Certified: Pet first aid and CPR
Well, I did it. I got certified.
Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, that is!
My greyhound Laura is a bit of a clutz. If she was a human, she’d be that person who was constantly getting bruised, scraped up, and falling down.
Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. She may not be human, but she’s sure my dog.
That’s one reason why I opted to take the Pet Tech Pet First Aid and CPR training offered by Tracey Haskell from Green Acres Kennel Shop recently. I also took it so that when I work with other people’s pets, I’ll know what to do if there’s a problem.
In high school and throughout college, I worked for Brunswick Recreation as a concessionaire. And every summer, I took human first aid and CPR. I’m glad I did because it helped me with this course.
But even the unseasoned pet owner will be able to successfully complete this course. It cost $50, and in my opinion it’s money well spent! Especially if you have a curious, excitable, and mischievous pet (like my greyhound Laura).
Keep an eye out for a training in your neck of the woods. You won’t regret it!
